Performance appraisal is a vital tool to measure the frameworks set by any organization to its employees. It is utilized to track individual contribution and performance against organizational goals and to identify individual strengths and opportunities for future improvements and assessed whether organizational goals are achieved or serves as basis for the company’s future planning and development. This study examined the status of the performance appraisal system and its implication for individual and organizational growth. Appraisal processes are not systematic and regular and often characterized by personal influences occasioned by organizations preoccupation to use confidential appraisal system which hinders objectivity and fairness. Often organizations ignore management by objectives, critical incidents to personal prejudices. This is retrogressive as it affects the overall performance of the individual.

COMPARISON OF EQUITY MUTUAL FUND SCHEMES FOR YEARS 2020-2024 IN INDIAN MARKETS
Author: Vivek Pachouri, Dr Shiva Johri

This research provides a detailed comparative analysis of equity mutual fund schemes in India, focusing on performance metrics, risk profiles & management efficiency. The study examines the trade-off between risk & return in equity & debt schemes, highlighting that equity schemes tend to offer higher returns at higher risks, whereas debt schemes generally provide risk-free returns. In the large-cap segment, ICICI Prudential Large Cap Fund showed a 15.67% improvement in performance, though its returns & risk were lower than the benchmark & its negative alpha may deter investors.
The Nippon Mid Cap Fund outperformed others with a 16.27% return, demonstrating higher returns with lower risk, thus indicating strong performance relative to its peers. In the small-cap category, Nippon Small Cap Fund delivered a 17.11% return, albeit with high risk, while HDFC Multicap provided a 16.1% return with high risk & an alpha significantly deviating from the benchmark. Kotak’s equity-linked saving scheme returned 14.02%, with Nippon ELSS funds showing increased risk compared to others.
The study underscores the critical role of fund managers’ expertise & market knowledge in achieving superior returns. These findings offer valuable insights for investors, fund managers & policymakers to make informed decisions in the Indian mutual fund market. This abstract synthesizes key findings & insights from the research, emphasizing performance comparisons & the impact of management quality on fund outcomes.

THE INDIAN ECONOMIC KALEIDOSCOPE: REFLECTING ON FDI AND GDP PATTERNS THROUGH GRANGER CAUSALITY AND ARDL TESTS
Author: Ajay Gupta & Nehkholen Haokip

ABSTRACT
FDI and GDP are very significant parameters of every economy. The present research focuses
on measuring the trends in FDI and GDP in India, by the application of Granger Causality
and auto-regressive distributive lag tests. This research paper aims to measure the impact of
FDI on GDP to suggest policy implications to the Indian government. To meet this research
objective, firstly, the Granger causality test was applied followed by the unit root test and
ARDL test. After the application of tests, it was found that FDI impacts GDP as per the
results of the Granger causality test. GDP was found to be statistically significant at level add
FDI was found to be statistically significant at the first difference in the context of the unit
root test. Considering the ARDL model on the application of the test it was found that longrun cointegration exists between the variables. Considering the policy implication for the
policymakers sitting in the parliament of India, it is observed that it has been the objective of
every government to establish an increasing trend in the GDP. To achieve this many steps are
taken by the government by integrating various determinants of GDP. FDI is one of the
important determinants which is clear from the present research hence more steps are
required to be taken while formulating policies to boost FDI and then GDP.

FACTORS AFFECTING FINANCIAL LITERACY: A STUDY AMONG RESIDENTS OF TRICITY
Author: Amit Mohindroo

Abstract
Financial literacy has emerged as a critical determinant of individual financial well-being,
particularly in an era marked by expanding digital finance, increasing product complexity,
and rising susceptibility to financial risks and frauds. Understanding the factors that shape
financial literacy is essential for designing effective educational programmes and fostering
inclusive financial development. This study examines the key predictors of financial literacy
among residents of the Tricity region (Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali). Drawing upon
an extensive literature review, seven dimensions—financial knowledge, financial awareness,
financial experience, financial skills, financial capability, financial goals, and financial
decisions—were identified as potential determinants. A stepwise multiple linear regression
analysis was conducted separately for male residents, female residents, and the overall
sample to assess the individual and collective significance of these variables. The findings
reveal distinct gender-based variations in the factors influencing financial literacy.
